Are you ready for Change? Mundubile asks Zambia

BRIAN Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu yesterday arrived in Mwansabombwe to euphoric welcome and asked Zambians if they were ready for change after next month’s general election.

And Mr Mundubile has said he and Mr Zulu have graciously accepted the demand from Zambians that they should take up the leadership of Zambia after the dismal performance of President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND.

Addressing a mammoth rally in Mwansabombwe, Mr Mundubile said if a government fails to change the lives of the people, the people reserved the right to withdraw their support and change the government.

“Are you ready for change…are you ready for change,” Mr Mundubile asked as the crowd responded in the affirmative. I and Makebi Zulu have accepted to take over the governance of the country and liberate Zambians. President Hichilema and the UPND have failed to deliver on all his promises, including cheaper Millie meal, cheaper and steady supply of electricity. President Hichilema is on record having said that if a government fails to change the lives of the people, the people must change the government. He has failed and the people are ready for change,” Mr Mundubile said.

And Mr Mundubile has said it was propaganda and a deliberate misrepresentation of his message to civil servants that they should reject taking illegal instructions from the UPND.

Mr Mundubile has dismissed assertions that he had been threatening civil servants with dismissals after forming government, stating that his advice was that public workers should remain professional.

“I have never threatened civil servants. Public workers should always discharge their mandate by strictly following the law. Do not accept to carry out illegal instructions of attemtpong to rig the elections. Governments come and go but the civil service shall always remain. Some of the civil servants we worked with are still working in the UPND government because they are disciplined,” Mr Mundubile said.

Mr Mundubile has reinforced his pledge of improving the conditions of farmers by ensuring that they receive eight bags of fertilizer and seed unlike being subjected to sharing the inputs in medas.

He also promised that the Food Reserve Agency would be announcing the floor price of maize on the first of June every farming season and demanded that President Hichilema should immediately announce the floor price so that farmers should deliver their maize.
