ZAMBIANS are experiencing greater economic hardship under the UPND than they did during the Patriotic Front administration and that is why they are determined to remove the Hakainde Hichilema administration from power, Chishimba Kambwili has said.
Speaking at a National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Progress campaign rally in Nsama, Mr Kambwili criticised the ruling UPND’s message that Zambians would suffer if it lost power.
“They should stop telling people that they will suffer if the UPND is removed from office. People are already suffering more now because of the high cost of living,” Mr Kambwili said.
He argued that rising prices of essential goods and services have made life more difficult for many households and urged voters to judge the government based on their own living conditions.
Mr Kambwili, the Citizens First Roan parliamentary candidate made the remarks as opposition parties continue campaigning ahead of the August 13 general election.
The UPND has maintained that economic reforms introduced since 2021 are laying the foundation for long-term growth and that improvements in mining, education and debt restructuring will deliver greater benefits over time.
