THE Tonse Alliance has sent a four-member delegation to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to observe the printing of ballot papers for next month’s general election.
In a statement issued yesterday, the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) said the delegation would participate in and monitor the ballot printing exercise to ensure transparency throughout the process.
The delegation is led by Tonse Alliance presidential spokesperson George Chisanga and comprises Economic Freedom Fighters president Kasonde Mwenda, Fourth Revolution Party president Roosevelt Tonga and Professor Nkandu Luo.
According to the statement, three members of the delegation left Zambia on Tuesday evening, while Mr Chisanga was expected to join the team yesterday after attending to another presidential assignment.
“We believe a free and fair election includes transparent ballot paper printing, as an election is not an event but a process,” the statement said.
The NRPUP said the delegation would remain in the United Arab Emirates for the duration of the ballot printing exercise and would provide updates as necessary. Mongu deserves a world-class airport – Jito
