THE Tonse Pamodzi Alliance with its presidential candidate Brian Mundubile should forget about ever winning this year’s general election because the UPND has already played “played games” politically.
Mr Liswaniso, the UPND national youth chairman has accused Mr Mundubile of being overly excited by his presidential ambitions and would not become the country President now or in the foreseeable future.
Speaking during a political engagement, Mr Liswaniso said his remarks were merely brotherly advice to the Tonse Alliance presidential torch bearer.
“This is brotherly advice I am giving you. You are not coming as Republican President, not now, not even in 2036 or 2041. You are still very far from that position,” Mr Liswaniso said.
He said Mr Mundubile should begin preparing himself psychologically for defeat because the UPND understood the realities on the ground better than the opposition.
Mr Liswaniso also claimed that Citizens First president Harry Kalaba declined to align himself with Mr Mundubile because he understood the political dynamics and had established structures throughout the country.
“My older brother could not align with you because he has structures everywhere and understands the figures required to win an election,” he said.
Mr Liswaniso said the UPND had experience in both winning and losing elections and therefore possessed superior political experience compared to its rivals.
He urged Mr Mundubile not to become overconfident ahead of the August 13 polls, insisting that the ruling party remained firmly in control of the political landscape.
