WAFCON preps on course, says Belemu

COPPER Queens’ defender Margaret Belemu says preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations are progressing well, with players showing strong commitment in training.

Belemu says competition for places in the final squad remains intense, with every player pushing hard and maintaining a positive attitude ahead of the tournament.

She notes that Zambia’s main objective is to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and ultimately challenge for the WAFCON title.

The defender adds that upcoming friendly matches will help the team assess its readiness, especially ahead of tough Group C clashes against Nigeria, Egypt and Malawi.
