LTS supports Chimwemwe hospital to boost digital healthcare services

LUSAKA Telecom Solutions (LTS) has donated 10 desktop computers to Chimwemwe Level One Hospital in Kitwe under its Connected Care Initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility programme aimed at accelerating digital transformation in Zambia’s healthcare sector.

The donation forms part of LTS’s commitment to supporting healthcare institutions with technology infrastructure that improves service delivery and strengthens government efforts to modernise healthcare systems.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, LTS Public Relations and Marketing Manager Evans Nyoni said technology remains a key driver in improving healthcare systems and patient outcomes.

“The Connected Care Initiative reflects our belief that technology can play a transformative role in healthcare delivery. By donating these computers, we are helping healthcare professionals access the tools they need to provide faster, more efficient and more accurate services to patients,” Mr Nyoni said.

He said that the computers will support critical digital health platforms such as SmartCare and the National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) system, helping healthcare workers manage services more efficiently while reducing administrative challenges.

“As Zambia continues its journey towards a digitally enabled healthcare system, private sector participation is essential. Our goal is to make healthcare more accessible and efficient for every citizen,” he said.
