PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has pledged K10 million of his personal funds to support marketeers in Chingola, saying the donation is intended to complement ongoing government programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of traders.

Addressing a campaign rally in Chingola yesterday, President Hichilema said he had already brought the K10 million and urged beneficiaries to ensure the money is managed prudently.

“I personally will provide the support in addition to what we are doing as government. I, today, have brought K10 million. It is here, and once I am gone, you should start managing it properly,” he added.

President Hichilema said a team would be tasked with overseeing the distribution and management of the funds to avoid disputes among beneficiaries.

He encouraged the marketeers to administer the money responsibly, saying proper management would ensure it benefits the intended recipients.
