THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has adjourned the matter of Emmanuel Mwamba to July 20 2026 for return of bench warrant which has been extended.

This was after Police Deputy Chief Inspector, Justin Makumba informed that court that undercover officers were on the case to locate the accused, who was in the United State of America.

Mwamba is facing a charge of assault on a police officer on June 16, 2023 in Lusaka’s Woodlands area.

He is also facing another charge of disorderly conduct at a police station

“We are working to bring the accused. We are doing undercover investigations to bring him.

“We are still on intelligence information,” Mr Makumba said.

The matter of assault on a police officer came up in court on Monday before Magistrate Trevor Kasanda when Mr Makuma took to the stand.

Mr Kasanda had extended the bench warrant from February 2026 to June 22, but has again extended the warrant and adjourned the matter to July 20 for mention.
