…says President Hichilema has scored milestones in turning round Zambia’s economic fortunes

ZAMBIANS are not blind to the economic achievements and successes President Hakainde Hichilema has scored in his first term in office and their votes on August 13 will speak for him, Dr Vernon Mwaanga has said.

Dr Mwaanga, the veteran politician and statesman has called on Zambians to vote for President Hichilema so that he could continue presiding over the affairs of the country whose economy he says was in ruins.

He said considering what President Hichilema inherited in 2021, he had managed to uplift the country’s economy from economic ruin to a lively and growing economy with inflation reduced to single digits while the Gross National Product (GNP) having grown above five percent in 2025.

He said the kwacha had strengthened against all other world currencies with investor confidence having grown to the highest level with load shedding becoming a thing of the past.

“We now have free education, substantially enhanced US$6.5 billion foreign exchange reserves and the list of his achievements is long.

The people of Zambia are not blind to these achievements and their votes on 13th August, will speak for him.

I want to thank all those who have worked and supported him during the last five years. Let them support him even more up to 2031,” Dr Mwaanga said.

Dr Mwaanga, who on Thursday turned 82 years old has called on Zambians to work together and continue to put the country first and holding its motto of One Zambia One Nation.

“Let us work together and continue to put Zambia first and scrupulously observe the important motto One Zambia, One Nation”, which has held our country together for 62 years.

I always pray for our President, Mr Hakaide Hichilema and asking God to give him five more years as President of our country, so that his vision of a better Zambia for all Zambians is achieved,” Dr Mwaanga said.
