Police Command extend mass promotions to Nkwazi FC

NKWAZI Football Club players and members of the technical bench have received promotions within the Zambia Police Service high command, in recognition of their discipline, dedication and outstanding service both on and off the pitch.

The ceremony, held yesterday, was officiated by Assistant Commissioner of Police and Assistant Director- Administration Juve Zulu, who represented the Inspector General of Police.

Zulu presented the newly promoted officers with their badges of rank and urged them to remain hardworking, disciplined and committed to both their policing and sporting responsibilities.

“The promotions you have received should motivate you to continue working hard and uphold the discipline expected of officers in the Zambia Police Service,” he said.

Zulu also conveyed the Inspector General’s expectations ahead of the forthcoming Transition League, encouraging the team to remain focused and determined as they prepare for the new season.

Among those promoted were goalkeeper coach Inspector Samuel Ngulube, now Chief Inspector; Young Nkwazi coach Sergeant Mwila Nchimunya, now Inspector; assistant coach Sergeant Michael Bwalya, now Inspector; and assistant coach Constable Terence Mwansa, now Sergeant. Club captain Derrick Mwansa rose from Sergeant to Inspector.

Other constables promoted to Sergeant included Media and Public Relations Officer Jeff  “Bauer” Mwape Chishimba, club administrator Lawrings Tembo, club accountant Nelson Mtonga, and players Emmanuel Chabula, Innocent Kashita, Pride Mwansa, Crawford Mwaba, Bernard Kumwenda, Erick Chomba, Bradley Mweene, Lukas Mainza, Nelson Mwila, George Ndlovu and Mathews Mashimikilo.

Acting Sports Director Superintendent Teddy Shimishi thanked the police command for recognising the contribution of athletes and technical staff, noting that the promotions would serve as motivation for sports men and women to continue excelling while maintaining professionalism.

According to Zambia Police media, the morale boost comes as Nkwazi intensify preparations for the Transition League, with hopes of achieving success both on the pitch and within the ranks of the Zambia Police Service.
