Mundubile preaches the gospel of ‘One Zambia, One Nation’

A GOVERNMENT that violates the rights of its own citizens, dehumanises them with high cost of living, draconian laws such as the Cyber laws, that takes away their rights, freedoms and liberties as well as their lives has breached the social contract between itself and the people and should is never worth supporting, Brian Mundubile has said.

Mr Mundubile, the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) presidential candidate says the UPND has severely broken the promises it made to Zambians and has therefore lost their trust to continue governing the country.

Addressing a mammoth rally in Kasempa, a rural district in North-Western Province yesterday, Mr Mundubile said time for the UPND to leave power had come so that a responsible leadership could take over the governance of the country.

“We under a regime that has brazenly been violating citizens’ rights. The UPND has dehumanised our citizens with the high cost of living, with the draconian laws that have been legislated to target selected citizens. They have taken away citizens’ rights, freedoms and liberties. They have breached the social contract they signed with Zambians and have to right to continue being in government,” Mr Mundubile said.

Mr Mundubile told Kasempa residents that young people would no longer be killed by the police and soldiers for eking their living in their own land but were being treated as criminals.

“No police officer or soldier will kill you. Our Chiefs will be respected by our administration. We will take care of them. UPND grabbed Kikonge Mine and gave it to their foreign friends but we will give it back to you,” Mr Mundubile said.

He said while youths were strong enough to throw stones, they had remained peaceful despite being provoked and living under difficult conditions.

 Mr Mundubile said his administration would treasure peace and unity and that he, together with his vice president Makebi Zulu would embark on reconciling the nation that had been deeply divided under President Hakainde Hichilema.

“We are going to inherit a country that has been deeply fractured by the UPND government. Never before have the tribal sentiments become so pronounced in our country than it has been under the UPND and President Hichilema. We shall embark on a crusade to reconcile and heal the nation as soon as we form government in the next two weeks,” he said.

Mr Mundubile said the UPND had introduced a culture of employing people in the public service using the data base, which he said was promoting nepotism and segregation against citizens from selected regions.
